Tauranga (NZ) horses tips & previews

Welcome to Tauranga for the Tauranga Crossing Fashions In The Field Mdn over 1400m, scheduled to jump at 11:39 am AEDT. The win market is led by Royal Assett sitting right at the top of the order, closely followed by High Goal, Gigi's Prayer, and Vodka And Caviar rounding out the leading quartet. This maiden field brings together a mix of promising types where we reckon the market's missed a beat and the value sits with digging into the form behind those shorter prices rather than just following the most favored runner blindly.

The case for the market leader Royal Assett, prepared by S B Marsh and drawn in barrier 9 with Matthew Cartwright aboard, brings strong interest into this 1400m assignment, while R James & R Wellwood saddle up High Goal from barrier 4 with Masahiro Hashizume taking the ride. Stablemate Gigi's Prayer also hails from the R James & R Wellwood yard, jumping from barrier 10 under George Rooke. These runners hold their market positions for clear reasons based on their setups, but sorting through how they handle the Tauranga circuit will dictate who takes out the prize in this test.

Looking further down the order, Samantha Collett takes the steer on Vodka And Caviar from barrier 7 for trainer Ms K A Hoskin, sitting right inside the top bracket of the win market. Meanwhile, Le Fleur draws barrier 3 with Corentin Berge steering for trainers L O'Sullivan & A Scott, and Workout jumps from the inside alley in barrier 1 with Michael Mc Nab in the saddle for Conor & Sarah Fahy. With speed and tactics playing a huge role over the 1400m journey here at Tauranga, our bold play is to weigh up these runners carefully to find where the genuine overs are hiding.
